About Linda B Hayes:

I was raised mostly in Florida, where I started doing art at an early age. My parents were very encouraging to all of us kids in fostering our interests and exposing us to new activities. I love to read, sew, cook, and travel. My husband ,Don, and I have visited all 50 States and over 50 countries. In fact we met and married in Bolivia, South America, while teaching at the American School. Our honeymoon was a 4 week backpacking trip around South America.

I draw, paint and create a lot of my art from photos that either my husband or I have taken over the years, and sometimes from ideas from others.

My artwork is varied, from machine sewing, hand sewing, needlepoint, to bead-work, clothing construction and Soft-Sculpture dolls and/or critters . I love to draw, paint (using watercolors, acrylics,tempera, etc) , using various media, paint gourds, and other items, and experiment with new materials/medias and ideas. If I see a new craft or way of doing art I can’t wait to try it out.

It wasn’t until a few years ago that I started to sell some of my art. Up until then I just did it for my own pleasure or as gifts for family or friends. Over the years I have won many Ribbons and Prizes for my work at various exhibits and art shows.
